   1. The apartment was comfortable, and interesting. Hardly surprising, since the owner was an artist. 2. Location was very good, with a view over the ocean, since the location was up teh mountainside of Mt Etna. Convenient for our side trips to Taormina (visible from the apartment), Catania and Siracusa. As well as Mt Etna volcano, of course. 3. We stayed over 31 December, so that at midnight, we were treated to dozens of fireworks displays in different towns - all visible and free of charge! Spectacular! 4. Our host, the artist, was present every day, and very helpful. We consider it a very big plus if the host is on location or near by. Too many people who rent apartments find that they waste a lot of time trying to get hold of the owner for whatever necessary reasons. 5 Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was a comfortable week or so.

   1. You need detailed directions (which I asked for by email) to get there, since the apartment is on a side rural road and not obvious as to how to reach the place. The Giarra turnoff was the best bet.
   2. The house is up hill quite a ways off the road. To get to the house, you have to drive -carefully!!!!- up a steep, very narrow laneway bounded by concret walls and discocetring large poles at the edge of the driveway. After driving up no more than 10 meters on the laneway, I decided for prudence, to back down, and park in the street, since there was minimal clearance on either side. So we had to bring up our luggage to the apartment, which the host generously did in his narrower van - and upon leaving, took it down to our car.
   This was our only "down side", since we had to hike up the hill every time we left our rented car out on the street below. If you have a large car - Mercedes or so - I would guess that there is no way you can drive it up the driveway without scraping the sides.
   So, be warned of this ahead of time. But the host will be more than congenial to driving your luggage up the driveway.
   The stay is well worth the while!

   La cortesia del locatore e la posizione strategica x visita Etna e mare. La casa è in mezzo al verso x cui fresca e ditata di tutti i confort

   L'unica pecca potrebbe essere la strada stretta x arrivare sotto casa ma la nostra è una macchina particolarmente larga il padrone di casa con un furgoncino ci passava tranquillamente!!!

The Holiday Apartment "La Casa Di Ghiara" is situated in a magnificent and natural area. The home, overlooking the sea, is on the first floor of a renovated farmhouse, surrounded by greenery and distant km. 1.5 from nearest town.

On the ground floor lives the owner who will be happy to provide tourist informations of the area.

The space inside is made up, distributed on different levels, of a living room convertible into a double bedroom; a double bedroom, an equipped kitchen and one bathroom.

The house is provided with two terraces .Towards the east, it enjoys a view extending from Taormina, Calabria, the beautiful sea of Fondachello. The room is air conditioned.

The strategic location of the house allows you to easily reach the historic centers of culture and nature:15 minutes from Taormina; to Etna 20 minutes, the sea of Fondachello just 7 minutes.
