   Loriana was wonderful upon our arrival, and the apartment was just beautiful! The stone structure, period furniture and lovely art was a pleasure to return to each evening. I had read a review that commented on the many steps to the apartment, but from our experience, there were far fewer than the other places we had stayed (1 flight, as opposed to 2 or 3 at other apartments). Loriana had left us with a selection of food and drinks for breakfast throughout our stay. She also invited us to her hotel (around the corner) for a coffee on our departure. We were left with maps and the apartment also had a selection of guide books and novels left by previous guests, which was a nice touch.

   With the kids on sofa beds in the living room, it meant we couldn't watch TV after they had gone to bed - but we knew this was the arrangement before we arrived, and were so tired each evening, it didn't really matter!

   Se fossi nei panni della gentilissima proprietaria, neppure lo affitterei un gioiellino del genere, ne farei la mia dimora. Splendido e ampio appartamento all' interno di un' antica torre,completo di ogni comfort, davanti all' ingresso si trova un ottimo ristorante.

   Nessun aspetto negativo.

   The Le Volte apartment in Perugia was an amazing place to stay the night. We wish we had more than one night there, because it really felt like home. There was a complete kitchen, full bedroom, living room, dining room, and bathroom. The staff really makes things easy for you and breakfast is provided in the room so you can eat whenever you like. They also did an amazing job of modernizing what is such an old apartment, without losing the "ancient" feel.

   The only caution I would provide is that the steps from the street up to the main door of the apartment building are uneven, stone (slippery when wet), and there is no banister. If you're uneasy on your feet, it may be a bit dangerous to climb the steps.

   Loriana, the manager, was very helpful, friendly, and supportive. Location was excellent as it's right in the historical center, very near Piazza Novembre, the Umbrian National Gallery and other major attractions in the historical center of Perugia. The apartment is well-pointed and maintained, in the ancient tower. Full of character with all the modern amenities for comfort and convenience.

   Because it's in the historical center, finding the place may be a bit stressful and difficult. It was our first time driving in a historical center of an Italian city and navigating the narrow, winding, hilly streets can create some anxiety. However, we had a gps which was very helpful. If you have a good driving map of the city plus a gps, you should have no problems. Getting familiar with road signs and how traffic works in historical center ahead of time would be helpful. www.slowtravel.com has very helpful tips for driving in Italy.

   This was a marvellous place to stay. The apartment was very thoughtfully presented and right in the heart of the city. The staff were extremely helpful and provided great advice. It made our stay in Perugia a wonderful experience. I would certainly go back.

   We thoroughly enjoyed our "tower" experience. We lived a page of history with the convenience of modern accommodation. The apartment was comfortably cool and beautifully appointed. Loriana and her husband were nothing short of gracious. Clearly they have put their hearts and souls into this venture.

   The parking was a bit dicey for us. We are unaccustomed to such narrow and steep roads. However, we survived to tell the tale!
