   We found our hosts welcoming and very attentive. The B&B was quiet and cool and it was centrally located for all we wished to see.

   Located in a quiet neigbourhood close to the nice Bellini Park, and within walking distance from the 'centro storico', this B&B with its charming hosts, hearthy breakfasts and its faboulous terrace with the view of Etna volcano was one of our great pleasure and fond memory of our trip to Sicily. The weather was great, only the mosquitoes at night were a disturbance of our sleep.

   La particolarità dell'arredo e la zona centrale in cui è situato il B&B. I consigli dei proprietari e i loro coloriti comportamenti

   l'edificio si presenta un po' fatiscente.

   The owners of Sirtanus were excellent. They welcomed us with coffee on our arrival and the eating places which they advised us to visit were local to the B & B and very good, ranging from very cheap to reasonably expensive. All provided excellent food. As our visit coincided with the closure of Italian and UK airspace due to the ash-cloud from Iceland, our host went out of his way to call the Alitalia helpline on our behalf and booked a taxi to take us from the B & B to the airport when we left, and negotiated the fare for us! Lovely people!

   The landlords were trully friendly and warm. They wellcomed us as friends telling us "our home is your home" . They also provide us many useful information about where to go and what is to be seen. Their house is also very interesting, having a lot of art objects, personal photos and collections of various objects from the owners woldwide hollidays. It was quite a jouney- a cultural one - in living there and also a pleasant experience in living with the catanese intellectual family. We liked wery much Elleonora and Gaetano, regretting only we are not able to speak Italian, to be able to read Gaetano's books and to have deeper conversations with them. Anyway, they are marvellous people, kind, intelligent, friendly, curious about other people and cultures and ready to help you if needed. The roof garden was also a nice place to stay; we have enjoyed here the company of the "Diavolino" cat and of the old and quiet Salomea dog.

   The coldness of the house, that lacks the central heating. We have stayed in January and it was not pleasant to go to the bathroom in the night or having breakfast in a freezing atmosphere. I suppose this is not a problem after mid February, seeing the mediteraneean climate and the fact that in January the Spring was practicaly starting in Sicily.
   
   The breakfast was rather simple, in spite of the home made jam.

   Varcando la soglia di casa sembra di entrare in un'altra dimensione. Belli i colori e tutti gli oggetti che si possono scoprire nei tanti ambienti della casa e sul terrazzo. I proprietari sono molto disponibili e simpatici. L'avvocato è un vero anfitrione e resterà impresso nel nostro ricordo. Grazie per la dedica sul suo libro e un caro saluto.

   Piccolo sforzo in più sulla colazione, ma comunque va bene considerato anche il rapporto qualità/prezzo.

   La gentilezza dei padroni di casa, in particolare della Sig.ra Eleonora

   la mancanza di un frigorifero a disposizione degli ospiti, anche se il padrone di casa ci ha fornito lui stesso dell'acqua fresca. (col caldo che c'era). Avremo preferito una maggiore indipendenza.
   Non amando particolarmente i cani,di notte ce n'era sempre uno in giro....... per giunta vecchio .... le camere eccessivamente arredate e personalizzate.

   the family was welcoming, accomodating and very hospitable. they took particular care of me since I visited Catania alone during christmas and made me feel at home. the location is pretty convenient as, within a few minutes walk, one can have direct access to the historic city centre. it's true that piazza lanza is next to a prison and it might seem a bit dodgy at night but i had no problem getting home at any time of the day. the bathroom and common areas were always clean and well kept. the attic apartment features a large veranda and beautiful views.

   i found the room i was staying in very cold and the electrical heater provided inadequate.
