Farmhouse Il Mulino Di Quercegrossa is situated in the heart of the Chianti, among the luxuriant Siena hills, with a strategic position to visit the most famous cultural and artistic places of the whole of the Tuscany.
It draws its origins from an ancient late-medieval mill for grinding grain and boasts the first trading-license in this area.
The rooms have been decorated with particular care, with 19th century Tuscan style fittings and are different each other. All have private bathroom, sat-tv, safe and some rooms are endowed with private garden or balcony.
In the back of the central building are situated the rooms with private garden that face directly on the pools. In the external building all rooms have balcony on the access side and private terrace on the back.
The building that was once the tower is nowadays just a room called "The Tower". Inside a huge wooden beam stands out in the middle of the room.
From its position "The Tower" dominates the whole of the complex and the soft hills of the surrounding landscape. In the ancient manor home the tower possession was a distinctive mark that symbolized importance and power of the occupants.
In the residence also the restaurant-pizzeria Il Mulino, well-known in the area for its excellent Tuscan cooking, for the beauty of its room in stones "at sight" and for the ancient millstones that here stay in their original site.
There also are the pub La Capannina and the bar self-service.
Very spectacular is the pools park Aqualis, born from an accurate rebuilding of the ancient mill courses that fed the medieval millstones. 7 communicating swimming pools with spring waters that re-create the ancient path of the waters: the river (150m) for counter-stream swimming , the waterfall, the lake, the large Jacuzzi, the beach with shallow water where you can sunbath from inside the water, the wide central pool and the circular one, 4 mt deep.
