    Ideal location. Good base for sight seeing. Lake Como, Lake Iseo. Public transport easy and cheap. Apartment had all the home comforts ie. cooker washing machine, fridge freezer. Welcome pack of food on arrival. Small but cosy.

    The location of Contradella is perfect to explore the old city of Bergamo. Monica was helpful and happy to assist with any requests , just as others had written previously. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
    Some mould in the shower grouting needs attention but it not a major problem.

    The appartment is somewhat oldfashioned, but a nice place to stay for a few days. The location is just outside the old city centre. Monica is a great hostess.

    "We found the flat very quaint, everything that we absolutely needed was in it... from umbrellas, food, hair-dryers, towels, and the best thing of all, is that all electrical units worked.. lights, t.v., stereo. It was only a very short walk up an incline to the shops, so if we needed anything extra e.g. food... we only had to walk 5 minutes to get it.. The ambience, the weather, to an irish person, it was wonderful!" Debs&Gabri (Ireland/Italy)

    Everything! La Contradella was a delightful oasis of peace to which we could return to after a day's sight-seeing - so much more relaxing than an impersonal hotel room. Our hostess was so very welcoming and thoughtful - meeting us from the bus and returning us there at the end of our stay, providing a well-stocked fridge, as well as giving us detailed information about the city and the surrounding area.

    Sehr nette Besitzerin, die hilfsbereit für alle Fragen telefonisch zur Verfügung steht. Tolle Lage! Vor allem funktionierte die Heizung einwandfrei, was in Italien nicht gang und gebe ist...

    Absolutely everything about la contradella is perfect! Everything you need is there, from umberellas to handwash to a hairdryer! Monica fills up the fridge for your stay at no extra cost, with fresh meats, bread, milk, coffee, butter etc. This lasted the whole week except we bought more juice. Literally a 3 minute walk to Via Gombito, Citta Alta's main street and Piazza Vechia. The location makes you feel very safe and although traffic is heard from the front window in the kitchen and lounge it is very quiet in the bedroom. Our first holiday together here was perfect.
    Nothing whatsoever, 100% recommended! One day will hopefully return!

    All said at the website and to be read in the reviews is true. This appartement is absolutely wonderful. Perfect for two people. Clean, good location and Monica is a lovely host. You can also ask her to pick you up from the airport!
    Maybe for some people who are allergic to traffic the road is a bit noisy. But just bring ear plugs and you will sleep like a baby!

    The apartment was clean and tidy and we were told to make our selves at home. THe facilities, bathroom, cooking etc and for breakfast were very good. They were little touches such as Monica the Landlady, kindly picking us up from the station, which made the stay that much more enjoyable. The apartment was also in a very quiet location in the upper town and easily accessable for town centre. For those who do not speak Italian Monica's english is very good.

    The apartment was in a lovely location in the old town and convienient for buses to Citta Bassa. The apartment had every amenity and was very comfortable. Monica was the perfect hostess, meeting us at the apartment on arrival and dropping us off at the bus stop when we left. She also provided a fridge stocked with juices, ham, bread, yoguhrts and milk for our use during the stay at no extra cost.
    We had no complaints at all

    The apartment is in a fantastic location and it really feels like a home from home. The host has provided everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay - including lovely food for breakfast. The place is so well kept and is such a comfortable place to stay. I would definitely highly recommend this place. The owner really goes out of her way for you - coming to collect you at the bus stop and she called several times to ensure that everything was OK and that we had everything we needed. Fantastic!
    I think this place is probably best suited for 2 guests, as any more than that could be a bit too small. This is not a complaint, just an observation...

    Firstly the owner Monica, is an exemplary host, finely tuned to the needs of the modern tourist to one of the most fabulous towns and areas of Italy. Monica lives quite close to the apartment and as a result, her timekeeping is immaculate! Monica arrived a few minutes early, showed us all the various aspects of the apartment and answered any questions we had. As we had arrived by car, her offer to us of a parking permit was not only a big financial saving, but extremely convienent! The fridge and larder were stocked with the typical array of Italian breakfast requirements , plus milk, juice,water! The bed was large and of a good quality and on the quiet side of the apartment, the bathroom and shower were of a very high standard and a delight to use.There were also a good selection of maps, leaflets and guidebooks in the apartment. Overall it was like home from home and is to be highly recommended!
    As was mentioned before, it is a steep few minutes walk to the main streets of the town, some English TV channels would be welcome and finally, an electric kettle would be more than wlecome!!!!

    Our stay at La Contradella was very enjoyable. The location was ideal for the old town, and the apartment suited our needs perfectly. It is comfortable and well looked after. Monica was extremely helpful, meeting us at the bus stop on our arrival, and providing a good selection of food and drinks to start our week.
    We were entirely happy with La Contradella, and would stay there again.

    The owner was very helpful and ready to assist at any time. The apartment is ideally located to all the areas of interst in the area. Everything that you need was made available.
    Would have preferred a few English speaking channels on the T.V. to follow news broadcasts.

    We liked the apartment very much. Monica Marconi gave us a very warm and friendly welcome. She met us at the bus stop when we arrived in Bergamo and took us to the railway station when we left. She provided a lot of food for us and did not wish to be paid for it. Her kindness and friendliness made our stay a very happy experience.

    La Contradella has been operational for about half a year when we came in mid-December 2007. As there was no user feedback yet available, we decided based on the description, the photos, the location and the price. It is a tastefully renovated flat in a medieval building in a silent street of the Citta Alta. Bus No 1A took us directly from the airport to the end station in Citta Alta (Colle Aperto), in 30 minutes. Although the apartment is within walking distance from here, Monica, the owner kindly picked us up and drove us there, saving us the burden of finding the place in the narrow, crooked streets of the old town. She is very kind, helpful, reliable and also speaks English. The apartment is a cosy, charming medieval flat (watch the irregularly placed beams on the ceiling!), you can feel history all around you. It is on the first floor, easily accessible, only a couple of steps to the doorstep. The kitchen is fully equipped even for a longer stay. Monica left eggs, ham, butter, jam, honey, rolls, juice, coffee and tea for breakfast (no extra charge). There is a TV, and you may also bring your CD or DVD. There is a double-bed in the bedroom, but the apartment can sleep up to four, if the two comfortable convertible beds are also put to use in the living room. The bathroom is surprisingly big and creatively arranged and spotless. We were pleased to be among the first guests of La Contradella.
